High-grade wood production in CEE

As a material, wood is enjoying a renaissance. Alongside the sawmill and paper industries, the energy industry is also turning increasingly to wood-based biomass. A sustainably structured forestry industry stands ready, attempting on the one hand to cover the growing demand with regional resources, but on the other, increasingly reaching its limits. The search for new forests leads into ‘new Europe’.

After Poland, Romania has the second largest surface area of forest among the CEE countries. New potential opened up for amb to use its established network in the region and to expand its portfolio. The search is currently underway for suitable sites which would allow for efficient cultivation and management.

This initiative also offers a great opportunity to partners and investors who wish to take part in a Romanian forestry project.
