The modern and the middle-ages in perfect symbiosis

Schloss an der Eisenstrasse lies amid a thousand years of Austrian history, surrounded by gentle hills and fascinating river landscape. What today is a unique 4-star hotel was abandoned until only a few years ago as derelict.

It was only through the efforts of S+B group that the crumbling ruins were woken from their slumber. The ambitious plan was to revitalise the early baroque building and combine it with a modern seminar/conference centre. Following groundbreaking in April of 2001 the castle hotel was restored from the ground up, and enlarged with a cube-shaped extension, docking directly onto the historical original.

The newly designed whole was opened in 2005. 5 years later came a further extension of the modern wing. Today tourists, conference and party guests may choose from 93 rooms and can access up to 1000 m2 of seminar and congress area.
